Tips Before You Go
· Plan Every Meal: Create a simple meal plan so you only pack or buy what you need.
· Prep at Home (If you are driving): Pre-chop veggies, pre-cook proteins, and portion spices to save time at camp.
· Keep It Simple: Go for easy-to-cook meals that don’t require fancy ingredients or equipment.
· If you drive and can make food ahead, you can freeze some meals then use as an ice pack in the cooler while you are traveling.
· Mind the Cooler: Pack your cooler strategically—layer meals by day (day 1 on top) and put raw meat in leak proof bags on the bottom. Pack drinks in separate cooler if possible
· Bring Essentials: Don’t forget utensils, foil, seasonings, oil, a can opener, and a lighter/matches.
· Practice Leave No Trace: Clean up food waste and store food away from animals.
